To target the working person’s dissatisfaction with work

All in a Day’s work

Work has become a common icon of many of our modern societies across the world. People work for different reasons, and work brings different meanings to different individuals.

Perhaps at the most basic level, work represents the means to bring home the bacon, and the means to paying for daily needs for the individual and significant others. Stemming from that or perhaps by itself work represents self-esteem, self-worth and perhaps an identity.

What may be less explored yet commonly seen in my therapy experiences with clients are:

-Extension of work approaches typically problem-solving, quick-fix

-Work as a distractor, cushion from emotions

-Work as a compensatory measure to soothe certain underlying emotional needs

Do you or anyone u know have this?
